Instructor Biography
Susie Simmons

Susie has been admiring hooked rugs for a long time, but did not know anyone who did it. A childhood friend opened a local shop and offered rug hooking classes. She was thrilled for the opportunity and signed up for a class. Needless to say, she has been hooked since the fall of 2011.
She learned about Puckihuddlers, an ATHA Chapter in Indianapolis, which introduced to her to all of the different events that were available to rug hookers. She hooked with a couple of small groups who had some amazingly talented women and were willing to share their knowledge with others.
Susie is a member of several guilds including, Western Reserve, Buffalo Trace, Buckeye Rug Hookers Guild, and Hunterdon County Rug Artisans Guild.
She enjoys traveling and travels to different rug hooking events around the country. Her husband enjoys traveling with her to these events, when his schedule allows. Over time, he has become more interested in this art and is signed up for his first class. Susie has been vending for the past several years at hook-in’s, rug chapter groups, and other fiber events. She enjoys meeting new friends and seeing old friends at these events.
